COVERAGE
Here are a
few tips for defending against a player with the
puck behind the net:
- The defencemen
should go to the corners of the net and stop all
passout attempts
- The three forwards
should form an inverted triangle in tight in
front of the net. They must be very alert ('head
on a swivel') with sticks on the ice
- When all the
defenders are in place, one of the defensemen
should force out the puck carrier on his
backhand
