GOAL SCORING TIPS

Not everyone is a 'natural goal scorer'. However, here are some tips that will improve any player's ability to score goals:

1. Shoot the puck! Too many young players try to get the perfect scoring opportunity and often hold on to the puck too long or stick handle too much. Getting the puck on net creates the opportunity for rebounds or the chance of a deflection.

2. Go to the net. Over ½ of all goals are scored on tips or rebounds. Players that are willing to go to the net without the puck tend to score lots.

3. Get the puck up. In today's game, most goalies play a 'butterfly' style to take away the bottom of the net. In close, aim for the top corners "where gramma hides the cookies!"
