Dear
Parents & Campers,
Roger Neilson's Hockey Camp enters its 32nd year
in 2008 and continues to be one of the World's
most sought after camp destinations.
Our success can be attributed to many things
including our experienced and dedicated staff
(many of whom will celebrate their 32nd year with
the camp), our willingness to change along with
our constant desire to improve our programs - but
most notable, of course, is the foundation and
philosophy built by Roger himself.
Roger was extremely meticulous, paying great
attention to every detail of the camp experience.
He believed strongly that campers should be kept
busy every minute of the day and that even 'down
time' should be planned so that no camper ever had
to decide what to do next. He constantly tweaked
our schedule to ensure that campers got the most
out of their time spent with us and he was always
interested to make sure they had the time of their
lives. An integral part of this balance came from
the belief that campers should work hard at camp,
go home having improved both on and off the ice -
and that they should enjoy themselves doing so!
This continues to be our guiding influence and
Roger's memory is forever present in all that we
do.
Choosing the right camp can be a daunting task.
Each one has their merits and also their own
unique philosophy. Take the time you need to make
the right choice for your child and include them
in the process. We encourage you to call or email
us to ask any questions that may help with your
decision. We hope that Roger Neilson's will be the
right fit for you, but if it isn't what you're
looking for, we'll let you know that too and
direct you to another choice that may be a
better
fit.
As a fully accredited member of the Ontario
Camping Association (OCA) and endorsed by the
Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA), you can
rest assured your child(ren) will receive the
utmost attention both on and off the ice in a safe
and enjoyable environment.
